Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Knowles have scored a leading seven nominations each for this year's MTV Video Music Awards.


Kanye West and Rihanna scored five nominations each, while newcomer Amy Winehouse received three.


MTV also announced that the VMAs will be a one-night stand this year, airing live from the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas at 9 p.m. on Sept. 9.

R&B singer, Rihanna has grown bored of reports linking her to her record label boss Shawn Carter aka Jay-Z, insisting she ignores it.


Rihanna's close friendship with Jay-Z, head of Def Jam Records, sparked speculation the couple were having an affair behind long-term girlfriend Beyonce Knowles' back.


Rihanna said:

At first I was like, 'Ha ha, it's funny.' Now I just ignore it and I'm numb to it. You cannot stop people from saying what they want to say.

Rihanna struggles to find food she likes to eat when she's away from Barbados - because she refuses to eat anything but West Indian delights.


Rihanna has admitted she's no fan of Mexican meals, Indian curries or American fast food, and often wonders how she survives when she's tour.


Rihanna said:

I don't eat a lot of stuff. I don't eat Indian food, Mexican food, Cuban (food).

I don't like Japanese, hardly eat Chinese food... I'm not familiar with the taste. I'm not open minded at all.

It's got to the point where I'm just like, 'ok, Rihanna, you need to be eating something 'cause you're not going to find West Indian and Italian food everywhere you go.'

Rihanna refuses to wear skimpy clothes for videos and photoshoots because she's determined to impress with her music alone - just like her idol Alicia Keys.


Rihanna recently turned down a cover shoot for German magazine when she discovered editors wanted her to go topless for the session.


Rihanna said:

I don't like to wear things (that are) too skimpy... If I do shorts on the bottom, it's gotta be something very conservative at the top.

If it's skimpy at the top, it's gotta be long jeans or something.

I like to balance it out. I won't do short shorts and short top.

That's what I admire so much about Alicia Keys. She became so successful off of just her music. She was really conservative about her style at first.
