Nicole Richie pleaded guilty to DUI and was sentenced to four days in jail on Friday in a Glendale, California, courthouse.


She also agreed to serve a three-year probation term, and must enroll in an alcohol education program. She was also fined $2,048.


During the hearing, Los Angeles County Commissioner Steven Lubell admonished Nicole Richie, saying:

Someone could've gotten killed. You need to understand that driving under the influence is extremely dangerous.

Nicole Richie, showed up 10 minutes early for her 8:30 a.m. hearing, with her boyfriend, Joel Madden.

Sean Combs aka P Diddy and Kim Porter, have been dating off and on for ten years and have three children together: Christian, 9 and six-month-old twin girls, D'Lila Star and Jessie James. Both Sean Combs and Porter have children from previous relationships, Justin, 13 and teenager Quincy, respectively.


Kim Porter has moved out of the Manhattan home the couple shared, and into a new place in Los Angeles.


The breakup comes after speculation that Sean Combs is seeing actress Sienna Miller.


This is not the first time the couple has parted ways. In 1999, Sean Combs dated Jennifer Lopez during a separation from Kim Porter.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, who married in September 2004 before Britney filed for divorce last November, agreed the deal during a five-hour meeting in Los Angeles yesterday.


Kevin Federline is said to be receiving a $1 million payment, with the couple sharing custody of their two sons, 18-month-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, six months.


A spokesman for Kevin Federlins's attorney said:

The parties signed a global agreement on all issues of their marriage and custody of their children.

He refused to elaborate on the terms of the settlement, but revealed they had reached an agreement on financial matters.


A judge must approve the agreement before the divorce is finalised.


The meeting took place in Britney Spears's attorney Laura Wasser's office in California's Century City.

Nicole Richie was charged on Friday with a misdemeanor for driving under the influence by the Los Angeles district attorney.


Because of a prior DUI conviction in June 2003, by California law, Nicole Richie faces mandatory jail time of 90 days up to one year if convicted of a second DUI.


On December 11, Nicole Richie was spotted driving the wrong way on an L.A. highway. She was found stopped in a carpool lane by police, and subsequently failed a field sobriety test. According to police, Nicole Richie admitted to officers that she had smoked marijuana and consumed the painkiller Vicodin.


She was booked in Glendale and "was cooperative," said agent John Balian of the local police force, adding that her booking sheet showed that the Simple Life star was 5'1" and 85 lbs. Her bail was posted at $15,000 and she was released at 7 a.m.


Nicole Richie will be arraigned in Los Angeles County Superior Court in Glendale, Calif. on February 21.
