Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie says she can relate to what Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan are going through.


Fergie said at a Conde Nast Fashion Rocks event in New York:

They're young,

I was young when I went through my stuff. Leave them alone. If they want to get better, they're going to get better on their own.

Britney Spears, who has returned to Los Angeles after a disappointing comeback performance Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas, she spent a month in rehab earlier this year.


Lindsay Lohan, is in her third rehab program, following her DUI arrest last month, for which she was sentenced to a day in jail. In a statement, Lindsay Lohan said she was addicted to alcohol and drugs.


Fergie, who spent time in rehab was for a crystal meth addiction, says that Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan should ignore the media attention and focus on their problems.


Fergie added:

If somebody is going to change, they have to want to do it themselves

,

I think it is really unfair to them when they are trying to get help. We're all watching as a nation and commenting day by day on their rehabilitation. It's not fair. You're supposed to have a sanctuary, a place where you can go and not be pressured every day.

Fergie, is currently dating actor Josh Duhamel and is a singer from the group, The Black Eyed Peas.

The Black Eyed Peas swept the board at the American Music Awards last night.


The Black Eyed Peas were named Favorite Group twice, in the rap/hip-hop and soul/rhythm and blues categories. They also won Favorite Album in the rap/hip-hop section for 'Monkey Business'.


Although the Black Eyed Peas were not present at the event, which was held at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, they thanked their fans via a video link "for keeping hip-hop progressive and pushing it forward".


Other big winners at the ceremony - presented by surprise presenter Britney Spears - included the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who were named Favorite Alternative Artist in the adult contemporary category and Favorite Band in the pop/rock category.


Kelly Clarkson walked away with two accolades for Best Female, pop/rock, and Favourite Artist, adult contemporary.


Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles and Nelly Furtado all thrilled the crowd with spectacular performances.

Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie is furious with tabloid newspapers for constantly reporting she is pregnant when she appears overweight, because it makes her feel awful.


The singer, real name Stacy Ferguson, has been dating Las Vegas star Josh Duhamel for the past two years and is a frequent target for the tabloid media.


Fergie explained:

When people are saying you're pregnant every week (in the tabloids), you kind of wonder, 'Do I look fat?'

It hurts my feelings. It's one of my dreams to have babies, and I feel like these rumours will make it less special when it actually happens.

My poor grandma is calling me every week to congratulate me! I will issue a big press statement when it happens.

The Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has slammed reports she is engaged to actor Josh Duhamel, and insists there is too much media attention on the couple to even think about marriage.


Fergie, real name Stacy Ferguson, has been dating Josh Duhamel for two years, but has no plans to walk down the aisle.


Fergie said:

That's not true. I want to get married when the chaos dies down.

I want to enjoy this part of my life. I want it to be romantic. I don't know if people realise that. I think they just see this tomboy on stage.

I love to cuddle and make out and watch romantic movies and cry.
