After a marriage proposal in September to Kari Ann Peniche, his girlfriend of just a few days (they called it off six days later),Aaron Carter is dating again.


Aaron Carter, who turned 19 on Dec. 7, celebrated his birthday Friday night at Club Shag in Hollywood with his twin sister, Angel and 18-year-old Kaci Brown, a singer who opened for the Backstreet Boys during their 2005 summer tour.


Aaron Carter told PEOPLE:

Now I'm in a great relationship. I've only known her for, like, seven days, but I have a connection with her that's like nothing else I've ever experienced,

It's really amazing.

Kaci Brown, a good friend of Angel's, and Carter began their romance in Miami last week while celebrating his birthday.

Aaron Carter, 18, had called off his engagement to Kari Ann Peniche after only six days. Now 22-year-old Kari Ann Peniche tells Us Weekly her side of the story.


Kari Ann Peniche said:

It was to my surprise that Aaron came onstage and proposed to me,

I accepted at the time given the situation. We both got caught up in the moment and with further consideration I realize this wasn't the best decision given his stability and age. I hope to remain friends with him and I wish him and his family all the best.

Peniche is a former Miss United States Teen 2003, but was stripped of her crown after posing for Playboy.

Aaron Carter has called off his engagement to actress Kari Ann Peniche, after just one week, the singer confirms to Us Weekly.


Aaron Carter told us magazine:

I got caught up in the moment and proposed. I then realized it was a hasty thing to do and I am not ready for marriage quite yet,

A source said:

They are just going to be friends now. She still wants to keep dating him but Aaron is not quite sure. He was trying to appease her but came to his senses and realized it was the wrong thing to do.

Aaron Carter is engaged to Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche.


Kari Ann Peniche said:

I'm very excited about it,

Aaron is the most genuine person I know. He's kind, loving, and I love him so much.

Aaron Carter, 18, popped the question to Kari Ann Peniche who previously dated Aaron's brother Nick Carter on Saturday in Las Vegas while they were onstage in front of 200 people during the Playboy Comedy Tour at the Palms Casino Resort.


Kari Ann Peniche, 22, was named Miss Teen USA in 2003, but was stripped of her title after posing for Playboy. Aaron Carter is set to appear on an E! reality show about his family, House of Carters, premiering next month.


Aaron Carter has previously dated Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff.
