Birth Certificate Names Howard K. Stern the father of Dannielynn Hope

Howard K. Stern is listed as the father of Anna Nicole Smith's newborn daughter, Dannielynn Hope on her Bahamian birth certificate, a copy of which has been obtained by PEOPLE.

On the certificate, issued by the Registrar General's office in Nassau, The Bahamas, the child is identified as Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, born on September 7 in the Doctors Hospital in Nassau on the island of New Providence.

Howard K. Stern, who has been Anna Nicole Smith's longtime attorney and confidante, said during a September 26 Larry King Live appearance that he is the baby's father.

Howard K. Stern said:

Based on the timing of it, there shouldn't be a doubt (of the paternity),

However, photographer Larry Birkhead, who alleges he had a relationship with Anna Nicole Smith in California, also claims to be the father of the newborn, and has filed papers in a California court to establish paternity of the child.
