Beyonce Knowles is the latest celebrity to be targeted by animal rights campaigners PeTA.
Fooled into thinking she was dining with fans, Beyonce and her mother Tina turned up at Nobu in New York, only to discover the people sitting at their table, who'd won the tickets at a VH1 auction, were actually activists who wanted to quiz her on the use of fur in her House of Dereon fashion line.
PeTA spokesman Michael McGraw said:
PeTA has contacted Beyoncé numerous times over the years, begging her to stop promoting the violence of the fur industry,
By wearing and designing fur, she is setting a terrible example for young women who look up to her and want to emulate her. She is promoting one of the most violent industries on the planet.
According to sources, after being forced to watch a DVD of animals being trapped and electrocuted for their fur, Beyonce and her mother made their excuses and left.
